I'll be hunkered down for most of December as I ramp up for another busy real estate season starting in January. When people ask me what I do for a living , I tell them I'm a residential Realtor. Simple, right? When they ask me what sets me apart, I tell them it's probably my dedication to selling by educating. This also happens to be the very root of the REAL logo that was designed for me back in 2009 - you can see it at the top of this page. (Incidentally, the enormously talented expert responsible for it is Laurelea Conrad of Conrad Ferguson & Associates here in Toronto. She prides herself on communication by design, not by chance.) Anyhow, I thought I'd share a little bit about some of the other projects I spend my time on. Not only do these projects help keep me on top of the latest and most helpful information, but they're also resources for my existing clients as well as their friends & family - all of whom seem to have questions from time to time. I know the holidays are a hectic time of year but, if you (or someone you know) find some free time in the next little while, feel free to peruse any or all of these sites. You might find you have your very own online library of tips and news - all about real estate. Even better, you can sound like an expert at your next family gathering or holiday party!

In fact, each newsletter item is also broken out into its very own blog post, so you can just grab the ones that interest you most. They're also easy to share or highlight for future use. My producer (Janine Harris of Keyring Media - she takes businesses beyond the written word) created this series of very short real estate videos to help introduce some of the basics. I've been hearing that even experienced Buyers & Sellers have found them to be a useful refresher as they turn their minds to the possibility of making a move. I hope you enjoy them.

From time to time I'm invited (either by popular demand or because I've pestered the host so much they start to feel sorry for me) to speak to groups of employees, neighbours or community groups who have a desire to learn about a particular aspect of real estate. These take the form of Lunch & Learn seminars. I go on site and deliver a 20-30 minute presentation, followed by a short question & answer period. The best part? I spring for lunch! These are NOT sales seminars. The tone is educational peppered with a bit of humour from the front lines. This is a great way to inject a bit of team building or solidarity amongst your colleagues, friends or neighbours. Take a minute and review the current roster of available topics. If you are looking for something that does not appear here - ask me and I will tailor something just for you and your attendees. Full Disclosure: A friend of mine, Mark Bowden, is a world famous body language expert or, at least that's one of his greatest talents. If you are familiar with his techniques, you may recognize some of his handiwork in the seminars I present.
